Julia "Kito" Kirtley is a performance artist that fuses painting, fashion and dance in her installations. "The primary material in my work is the body as it relates to music/sound and emotion."

The paintings depict the relationship between music and dance and the energy and vibration of New York's underground dance culture. Additionally they incorporate abstract organic and geometric forms and reflect the urban landscape of New York City. 6ft X 6 ft folding panels are created as a back drop while the art comes to life. The music is a vital part of the experience as it evolks the emotion needed to transform the body.

The installations create an image of art coming to life in a 3 dimensional form
like sculpture in motion. From the bold and inventive moves of the dancer to the reserved and robotics strides of the model. The Dancer/Model in turn becomes an extention of the art.
